The Terwa is located in the midst of Nordic nature, and therefore its protection is of paramount importance to us. We use sustainable energy solutions, prefer local and ecological materials, and minimize our environmental impact in all our activities. This means, for example:
- Energy efficient solutions in accommodation and services - heating new log buildings is handled by environmentally friendly geothermal heat.
- Arranging composting and hazardous waste (eg batteries) and bottle collection.
- All municipal waste is utilized as emission -free energy at the Ekokkem plant, which produces heat to Hyvinkää and Riihimäki.
- Responsible raw materials in restaurant services and seasonal food.
The appreciation of locality and tradition
As part of kartano 's history and heritage, we support local producers and artisans. This is evident:
